We are always pleased to hear how people are getting on. Below is a selection of emails recieved from some of our many happy customers over the years. If you would like your comments to be added to this section please email us at sales@drumcarrow.co.uk.

Angus and Stephen; What can I say? 'Milt' is my dream. I know that I came to see the fantastic Joss but once I saw him out of his stable and with David on board I just had the feeling he was the one for my '3 year plan'. Whilst Esra is out and about competing, our plan is to bring Milt on nice and slowly and work on his flat work and let him jump for fun. Whenever I am asked about either of our horses, I have no hesitation in whipping out your business cards and recommending you. Heartfelt thanks to you all at Drumcarrow.
Julie Jamieson

Stephen, I can't thank you enough for the time you spent with us when we came looking for a horse that we needed to fit very specific criteria. Your help was amazing, you listened and took on board everything we said and guided us in such a confident, professional and friendly way. Esra has now settled into her new home in Norfolk close to David at RAF Marham. As you know David was invited along with Esra to join the RAF Equestrian Team. She was definately the right choice and they clicked pretty much from the first minute he rode her at Drumcarrow. Your pointers on how to ride her to get the most from her most certainly helped. They are quite a team!

Touche is now sold and goes away to Staffordshire on Tuesday. Thank you so much to you and the boys for all your help, time and patience. If at any time I do decide to buy a horse, Lohoar Sport Horses will be my first port of call. Many thanks again.

Hi. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone at Drumcarrow especially Angus for finding a fantastic home for my much loved mare. I bought her from Drumcarrow and had no hesitation in sending her back to be sold. Their excellent advise, attitude, customer care and most of all patience made the situation so much easier. Everyone is professional, caring, friendly and dedicated to finding correct home. The facilities and horses are spotless, great atmosphere and I would highly recommend them to anyone selling or buying a horse. Best wishes

"Hiya, iknow you wont remember me but i came to you 2years ago looking for a horse and we ended up buying Eclipse (Eclipse Van De Padde Meerschen) i just want to let you know how well we're both doing. He's turned into a superstar and is now out jumping 90-1m tracks with me, hoping to be jumping 1.10/1.20s by the end of this year. Me and Eclipse are also going to try our first ever One Day Event this summer starting at BE90. I just wanted to say thank you for giving me the best horse i've ever layed my hands on.
The picture below was taken at Ingliston Showjumping Grandslam in October and this was our first ever 1m and we both won it with 5secs ahead of everyone in the jump off.
Thanks"

Selling Humphrey (highland cross that I owned for 5 years), was never going to be an easy time.. After having Lohoar Sport Horses recommended to me, I decided to talk to Stephen about selling my horse. A good friend worked with us to save me some of the pains of dealing with parting with my horse and other arrangements. What I was impressed with most of all was Stephens concern and enthusiasm to find my horse a suitable and appropriate home. It made me feel so much better talking to Stephen and hearing how caring and interested he was in what I wanted, but also applying his expertise to find Humphrey the best home.
Stephen managed to find a suitable buyer for Humphrey within two weeks - This was a real success given both the time of year and Humphreys level /education. Although I am really sad about the situation, it has been handled as well as I could have ever have hoped for and I’m in contact with the new owner and receiving pictures and updates. Dealing with the Lohoar’s you can be sure that you & your horse will be  provided with:-  expert handling and advice / excellent  Customer Care /  Individual treatment and needs assessment is second to none. What I am most impressed with is the humility and manner shown by both Stephen and Angus as individuals and how the whole family and staff work together to welcome you and have created a great place to visit or to do business with.

Hey Angus. I just wanted to let you know that I'm getting on great with Socks - he is such a sweet, kind and gentle horse who is so eager to please.  We've been out and about a fair bit over the last couple of months at various lessons and clinics and he gets great comments wherever we go (Ernest Dillon told me he couldn't have found me anything better)!   I did my first 80cms PowerX competition at Inchcoonans yesterday and apart froma few knock downs (which we'll need to work on) he flew over everything without looking twice. Anyway, I just thought you'd like to know we're getting on great and whenever asked I'm giving Drumcarrow great compliments for the standard and quality of horses you have.

Hi Stephen. Thought I would up date you on Stan the man. We have had a great season! We were based down in Gloucestershire for part of it then came home to finish it off. Stan has really come on, he's turned into the perfect little event horse and has now moved up to Pre Novice. His dressage is improving and he's really matured over the season. We've had a few double clears and accumulated 9 BE foundation points. Also came 3rd at Hopetoun. Our last event was at the weekend (wee burgie) the XC course was pretty tough and I wasn't sure how he would cope but he amazed me and made absolutely nothing of the jumps however, I walked my course wrong and missed a jump so was eliminated. Very annoying, we would have been 3rd if it wasn't for that! He's the best horse Iv had and we have grown such a close bond. He is very much a one person horse! It's only me that he will allow to handle him! I also managed to get in touch with his breeders and old owners in Ireland. It was interesting speaking to them. We keep in contact and they are delighted to hear his progress. I plan to show jump and hunt in the winter and aim to move up to Novice eventing next year. He is very much capable so fingers crossed everything goes to plan. Can't express just how happy I am with him, he's such a special horse. Everywhere he goes, I have people asking about him but he's very much with me for life. The picture below was us at Dauntsey Park down in England where he flew round the track making it look easy! Thank you for giving me the perfect little horse :)
Catriona Ross

Dear Angus, I'm sorry its taken me so long to write and thank you for my splendid horse! Harry van Bouchout. ---- You were so right in putting me with him -------- I was very impressed with your lovely manner - never once did I feel like I was with a dealer selling a horse. You made the whole process (which I was not looking forward to as I had just lost my last horse) so easy and pleasurable and the yard and the horses all looked smart and well cared for. I recommend you wholeheartedly to anyone who asks where I got such a splendid fellow from and he does get so many admirers! Many thanks once again.

Loddon stables project: Firstly Amanda and I are absolutely delighted with the stables and of course we consent to your using any photographs in a promotional capacity. From a testimonial point of view, I would say from quotation through to final fitting, the service has been of the highest professional standard and the work and materials used are clearly second to none.  Working with the designer and builder of the main building between you, you have delivered a truly remarkable stables complex.
David Allen

He was a star at the weekend, his 1st SJ comp & double clear in both classes - yeah!!!
Katie Robertson

Hi Boys. Just to let you know that its 2 weeks today since I picked up Paddy and that I love him to bits. He is the sweetest horse and has been so easy to handle and I love hacking him and will have my first flat lesson on Thursday. Thanks for everything and I look forward to keeping you up to date and hopefully seeing you both at Blair - thats if this rain ever stops falling!!! Hope your all well up there.
Liz Linn

Angus - Just a note to say thankyou very much for all the help and advice you gave me when trying and then buying Sassie. She has settled in really well and seems to be enjoying herself. Had the saddle fitter out so she now has nice new tack and looks even prettier, if that is possible!
Karen Webster

I have been given your name and contact details by Natalie Christodoulou. We stable our horses at the same Show Jumping yard and I have watched in admiration and awe as Natalie and Vrede (Nakich Double Dutch) have taken the U.A.E. by storm .---- Natalie has spoken so very highly of the caliber of horses you have and the professionalism of your set up. -----
Dianna C. Thornborrow (Dubai)

Thank you for making horse hunting such an enjoyable experience. I can't believe that I found the perfect horse at the first visit. He is a star. ---- He is exactly as you described - a "schoolmaster". I have some way to go to match his standards but he is very forgiving.--- Thank you for everything and I will be promoting you as much as I can , especially as he is such a head turner and people always ask "where did you get him?"
Fiona Cram

Angus, my boy is just a delight! Have fallen for him big time already ---- went really well for me this morning; dressage saddle on, so I meant business. ----- and trying to get him British Dessage assessed asap. If this horse wants to event I'll seriously be the happiest person in the world because he is everything I could have wished for plus I think we'll do very very well together. Thanks so much for selling me such a gentle gent.
Claire Smith

Dear Angus and Stephen. Just a wee note to thank you very much for all your work , expertise and patience with Digger and Quinn. It is very much appreciated and hopefully we will keeep it up. The "icing on the cake" was winning the Reserve Supreme Championship at Fife Show. You had Quinn looking absolutely toned, muscular and bouncing in his stride! Think I'm needing the same --- Will keep in touch and many thanks again.
Ruth McLean

Hi Guys, I just thought I'd send you both a quick email just to let you know how well Flash (or Czar as we've now named him!) is settling in and to thank you both again for all your help!! ---- seriously, he is fantastic and has been to the beach, school & hacking all on his own already, no bother at all!! He is certainly turning heads down here and lots of people are asking where I got him, so the Drumcarrow name is spreading fast here!! Again, thank you so much for making the whole process so straight forward and stress free, it was an absolute joy to visit your lovely yard and was much appreciated after all the chancers we had come across previously!! Best of luck to you both and watch out for Czar storming onto the SJ circuit, ha!!!
Andrina Cunningham

Thanks so much for everything Stephen - really appreciate your help. By the way, if you ever want to give potential customers my email address I would be very happy to let them know what a great experience it has been buying a horse from you, - professional and friendly service with quality horses.
Natalie Christodoulou (Dubai)

Hi Angus,
Hope your well and business is good!
Just wanted to leave you a comment for your testimonial page as I want everyone to know ( that i haven't bragged to already) that i have the best horse in the world ;o) with thanks to you!  The big boy ( I called him renzo - shortened from his rendement lines) is truly the envy of the yard.  He tries so hard to please all the time, very intelligent and quick to learn - we're getting out and about to BSJA intros and aiming for elementary dressage in the next couple of months - booked into numerous XC training days - if all goes well we'll be BE this summer.  Once again - thank you so much for making the process so easy - I have and will continue to recommend  your services to everyone on the horse hunt!
Linzi McDade & Renzo

It's the pest from Dumfries again! -------- As said before many thanks with your service selling the big horse, I know it did take longer than anticipated, but you found him a first class home, so it was worth the wait.  The lady keeps in touch with us and she is absolutely delighted.  Should I ever be in the position of having a horse to sell again , I wouldn't hesitate in using your service - it sure takes the heartache out of the process.  Many, many thanks again.
Lesley Crichton

Hi Angus, I am the very proud owner of a horse you bred 10 years ago, a little coloured gelding called Drumcarrow Domino.  ------  He is a dream machine for me and we are competing at BD elementary and qualified for the Regionals, Scottish and Snec championships this year. Knowing you find suitable horses for buyers i wonder if you can help in the search for my daughter and son in law looking for a safe hack for him to start out on.
Mandy Sall

So glad you have helped mike and annabel with Rockhill horse.  it will be a 5*+ home for him thats for sure. Just for your info.  Domino managed his first proper elem test at SNEC on saturday and was 2nd with 66% so very pleased with himself!!! please send photos if you find any of him as a baby would love to see them thanks again.
Mandy Sall

Just a wee update on Arka.(Sumas Nevada) She is doin great and is such a lovely mare! Having much fun with her, won both her working hunter classes at ingliston grand slam few weeks ago. Thanks muchly:)
Emma McDougall

Hi Angus, just thought I would send you a wee photo of me and Winnie! She's getting on really good, very consistent with her flatwork now, and we have been getting placed in all ridden and working hunter classes so far. Hoping to go to Orkney and the mainland next year, maybe do some CHAPS classes with her, see how she compares to other coloureds. I think you made a good match here! Thanks again.
Alison Rennie (Shetland)

Hi Guys. Hope you are all well?! Just a short note to let you know that we are just back from The Royal International where we competed Antartica in the Novice 1m Open classes.  He performed very well each of the five days asked of him and his worst result was 1 down. Not bad for a 5year old who has only been to 4 shows! Ashleigh is delighted with him but no more than I am, in fact he is the very reason I am about to take up riding again as he is so level headed and easy to do. Already we are being asked about him at every show and people “NOTICE” him as he has so much presence. Thank you again for finding him for us!! Best regards.
Barbara Laing

Thanks so much for all your time today - you have created equestrian heaven! Best wishes.
Hugh and Yvonne Magee

Just want to say all the places we have been looking at horses your horses were the best presented and turned out.  You would not believe what we have seen and been told when you can spot the obvious lol x  Thank You.
Kim McMillan

British Horse Society unannounced yard inspection 4th February 2010. Summary of written report comments: "lovely large stables" Horses: " all in great condition, clipped and well groomed". Notes: "lovely well run yard".
BHS Approval Inspector

Was so impressed with your set up today. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to do what you have done!
Lindsey Graham

Angus. A quick e-mail to let you know how I'm getting on with Tancer. -- As you predicted his flatwork has improved quickly, already he is making me have to up my game and ride more advanced movements. -- I've just to learn which buttons to press and get us more consistant before seriously competing. --- He's very good with me, he makes me laugh as when I get it a bit wrong either jumping or on the flat, he grumbles like an old man, I think he's trying to speak and tell me to do it properly! -- I'm really enjoying having only one to concentrate on and he is exactly what I was looking for, he's really special, a very sweet horse to have around, I think he is thriving on being the centre of attention rather than just one of many. Thanks again.
Vicki Crichton

Nic’s just great and we're heading to Turnberry this coming Sunday (was re-scheduled due to the rain)...its the regional final which is a very big qualifier for Badminton horse trials next year.  Looking forward to having a crack at it but am also realistic....He’s been a complete star though and I never imagined to do so well so quick and so consistently with him.  He’s quite a character though and would definitely be a monster in the wrong hands!!  But seriously talented so have high hopes for next year. Have just registered BD for the winter so looking forward to having a go at that with him. Will keep you posted.
Claire Smith

It was really good to come back to your yard, although obviously sad at the same time, and happy too because I got Winnie!! She is an absolute star and has settled in so well. She's such a polite mare and is very calm. I had her out yesterday for a flatwork and gridwork lesson and she did very well. Off to Orkney on Wednesday for some training and qualifiying jumping for the County Show, so fingers crossed for that.
Alison Rennie
Thanks again for all your help, and for making us feel very welcome down with you, you certainly run a fantastic yard, and definitely produce, and can supply some cracking horses. We will not have any hesitation recommending Drumcarrow to anybody up here, I think you have already proven what you can do, given past dealings and history. The vet was extremely happy with Lara when he vetted her today, and was very impressed with her condition and what she was capable of.
Finlay and Sarah Murray
Just a quick update to let you now Berke is getting on really well! Went to our first show the Wednesday after you dropped him off and did a couple of classes. He was greatly admired and jumped double clears and was placed 4th! I have been out to a couple of shows since then and we are consistently going well over 90-1m classes, our first working hunter is this weekend and XC training mid week in preparation for a hunter trials the following weekend so all is going well. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and Angus for all your help. Anyway thanks again I couldn't be happier with him, he is a great horse and I love him to bits!
Gillian Wells
We bought Walter from you last December and I just thought I would let you know that he is doing great! He settled in straight away and has not put a foot wrong since! Over the winter we have been getting lots of dressage and jumping lessons and he is so calm when away from home. We have allot of shows planned this season and we are going to take him to the beach soon which will be fun
Roseanna Clark
I bought my horse from you --- His name is Zeb a 4yo dutch warmblood gelding. He is a really friendly little horse. He's getting on really well. We've been doing a bit of dressage and jumping. It turns out he's got a pretty big jump! We're off to cross country training in April which should be interesting.
Laura Cull
Hope your all well. Not sure if you'll remember me but I came up with Elaine Shand and purchased the wee ex race horse Charlie from your about a month ago!! You were on holiday at the time when I collected him but your dad said you like to know how your horses get on. Well good news so far!! The boy has been fantastic from day1,think I was more stressed about the move than him ; ). He schools beautifully, jumps and hacks out no bother! We've been up the stubble fields most nights and he's so well behaved! Even when there was a group of 5 of us lined up to canter he didn't take off!! (Explains why he didn't make a great racer!!!) To top it off he has such a placid nature and everyone on the yard adores him!!! After owning a pony from hell before I very much appreciate having such a kind horse and if he keeps it up he's got himself a home for life! My plan next year is to enter some racehorse to riding classes with him so I will let you know how that goes. I shall keep in touch!! Thanks again,
Liz Fincher
Anyway we had Saleen and Urssela and Alpha at a big showing show the other day in the warmblood classes. Urssela came 1st, Saleen came 2nd and alpha got 4th........!! (they said Saleen would of came 1st but was being a pain and would not stand etc) Those drumcarrow horses cleaned up that day.............! anyhow just thought you would like to know, that they are all doing well.
Gail Speight
He’s a lovely horse just getting used to too many titbits as he seems to be a hit in the yard with the stable girls!!!
Jillian Male
I thought I'd send a quick e mail to let you know that Madam has settled in really well. She's out 24/7 with a rug on at night. She seems to be getting on with her field companions. She's great to deal with in her stable, she is also getting a personality. She loves her food & eats anything you give her. I am trying to get to grips with her amazing trot. I have bought a dressage saddle & at the moment am bouncing about a bit. I am getting a lesson from Helen Brown on Wednesday so hopefully she'll help to sort me out. Thank you for finding her, she has been worth waiting for. So far so good.
Maureen Smith
Thought I would give you a little update as to how Savannah is getting along. She is settling in very well to her surroundings and we have been going out in the trailer quite a lot between having lessons, hacking and even our first low key dressage comp I took her to last Saturday. (she was 1st and 2nd just an intro and a riding test we did). She is an angel and she certainly suits my personality very well. We are hoping to take her to more dressage comps over the summer, and maybe a crumply camp for a bit of fun
Iona Murgatroyd
Soraya (aka Wonky) is settling in well, and just what Alice needs...but the reason for this email is to let you know how well Polly and Fly did at Burgie International Horse Trials this weekend. Aside from rubbing shoulders with Zara Phillips, Ruth Edge & Caroline Powell they were 5th in the Open Intermediate 3 day event. Results at: http://www.bdwp.co.uk/cgi-bin/3d.pl?page=sj_res&fn=bge08.csv&sct=F Fly absolutely loved the steeplechase phase and three people I know who were fence judging on the cross country phoned me to tell me how well Polly and Fly jumped their jumps. At least 4 people I didn't know asked me where we got Fly from; so I told them! You'll be needing to pay me commission soon!
Maria Prior
I must say Lola is doing great, she is such a wee star and I love her to pieces.
Cheryl Corson
Had kept meaning to get in touch with you after buying Miss Alpha, it's been a few months now! Brilliant horse, having a blast with her. We've been really successful at local shows doing 75cms (she's walking over them) and some dressage. She's settled herself in really well and is in great form. will be sure to be in touch when any of us is next looking for a horse. Cheers
Laura Morrison
Bought Vica from you last year. Really enjoying her - did Strathearn, Balkello, Craigie and Gleneagles with her this year at novice level and we're getting on fine and thinking of getting another one to play with —
Yvonne Hayton
Just to let you know that Adventure has settled into this new home very well. Rebecca is having great fun and I have a very happy daughter. He is going wonderful on the lunge and he is getting his new saddle fitted today. Thank you again for all your help and if anyone is looking for a new horse I will point them in your direction. Once we get our first red ribbon I will let you know.
Carol Young
He's so funny, he thinks he is a stallion and prances around like he owns the yard, everybody that has met him falls in love with him instantly! I have had absolutely no complaints with him and don't think I will ever sell him
Amy Clark
I am just loving Ukora. She has been a real asset ----
Caroline Southesk
Thanks again for selling Ollie to us and being very honest about his behaviour, if we had not know what he could be like I am sure he would have been back!! we will be recommending your service to anyone we know looking for a horse.
Jane Sharp
Arra has settled in really well and Iona is over the moon with her. She is all she hoped she would be and more and has a lovely temperament.
Liz Bamber
I just want to say a big thank you for your time, help, honesty, and openness re- Lucky much appreciated. There was such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the yard that made us feel at ease. As buying a new horse can be such a tiresome, stressful time for all involved. Yet with the relaxed and professional approach such at Drumcarrow it was a pleasure.
