THE FLY

The house fly is the most Dangerous ARTHROPOD (insect) to mankind.

Spiders, scorpions and bees can cause deaths by bites, the number is small, but the house fly does its dirty work everywhere.

Poor sanitation, domestic flies, and intestinal diseases are constant and related problems. In Latin America, Africa, and India blowflies and houseflies are especially abundant, they shuttle between faeces and human food which attributes to thousands of human deaths per year.

Each fly can carry millions of bacteria on it's feet. If it has recently walked in excrement, it can transmit Pathogens (disease causing agents). These include many of the worst killers of mankind :- SARS, Typhoid, Cholera, Tuberculosis, Bubonic Plague, Leprosy, Diphtheria, Scarlet fever, Dysentery, Poliomyelitis, Infectious Hepatitis, as well as the eggs of parasitic worms to humans, unfortunately mainly to children.

The micro-organism that flies carry generally get into our systems by mouth, this occurs mostly when flies have picked up these micro-organisms from some diseased source, deposit them when they land on our food which they feed on. Most of these infecting organisms thrive in a warm and moist environment with lots of good food to eat, which is just what they find in our digestive system. They multiply and invade other tissues destroying them and messing up their functions and "presto" we are sick.

Some flies prefer the eye and transfer the microbes of Pink Eye, Conjunctivitis, and Trachoma from diseased eyes to healthy eyes. Others spread Yaws, a skin disease, when they feed on cuts and sores.

Fly control can be divided into two main areas:- Prevention and Eradication, both are aimed at some point in the life cycle of the fly.

THE FLY TRAP is the most economical, effective, environmentally safe, non-chemical answer to both aspects of fly control.

It captures the adult breeding flies, thus preventing and reducing the future fly populations.
