Our team is led by Angus and Stephen Lohoar, who are fully insured, first aiders and have achieved their UKCC Level 2 teaching qualification. As experienced equestrian professionals, they offer high-quality training services to riders and horses of all levels and disciplines.

At Drumcarrow Equestrian, we offer flexible training options to suit individual requirements. Our training can take place at home or shows, and can focus on flat-work or jumping. We can also school your horse as required in between training sessions. Whether you're looking for one-to-one daily training, or regular training sessions over the long or short term, we can tailor our services to meet your needs.

  • Leasing

    We offer a range of exceptional and experienced horses available for leasing throughout the academic year, primarily for students from the University of St. Andrews and St. Leonards School. Our horses range from novice confidence givers to Grand Prix jumping horses, so there is something for everyone. Our students enjoy a social and friendly atmosphere, with the opportunity to compete locally and internationally or enjoy a ride or hack in their own time. We regularly attend local competitions, where our students can come along and compete from 80cm to 140m in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Training can also be provided in your chosen discipline, and we can cover all general care of the horse on a full livery basis to ensure that no time is lost for your studies.

  • St Andrews University Riding Club Teams

    We currently host the University Riding Club team training on a Wednesday afternoon and provide additional lessons throughout the week for all abilities. Each semester, we also host the Riding Club Inter-University Competitions for jumping and dressage, hosting riding teams from all over Scotland using our horses and facilities.

  • St. Leonards

    Drumcarrow Equestrian currently hosts St. Leonards Riding Academy, catering from complete beginners to experienced riders who are able to come for regular lessons and training on our safe and experienced horses. Leasing options are also available on request.

  • Attending St. Andrews University or St. Leonards School

    If you're attending St. Andrews University or St. Leonards School and want to bring your own horse with you, we can host your horse here on a wide variety of livery types depending on your requirements. We are conveniently located just a few miles outside of St. Andrews, and we are able to help facilitate transport and Import/Export requirements as needed.

  • Competitions

    We regularly attend national and FEI international shows at home and throughout Europe. We have a certified 8-horse lorry and 4-horse drag capable of European long-haul journeys, so we can offer transport and training for horses and riders. We can help guide you through competing, whether it's your first time or you're an experienced competitor.
